See the trail before you ride it

Patented AR trail visualization

Point your camera at the terrain and the trail draws itself onto the real world — a glowing line right on the dirt, with direction and difficulty read at a glance. The technology behind it is patented (US Patent 11,480,441 B2, cited by Qualcomm) and proven at Red Bull Rampage.

Drift-free AR positioning

GPS and ARKit fusion keeps the trail line locked to the terrain, even when you’re moving fast — the line stays where the trail actually is.

Live wildfire alerts

Real-time CAL FIRE incidents and active burn areas, drawn right on your trail map. Know what’s burning — and where — before you head out.

Fully offline

15,000+ trails across 23 states, with maps and elevation bundled into the app. No signal required — the backcountry is the whole point.

Trail search & filters

Search by trail name, area, or state, then filter by difficulty, sport (bike or hike), and distance to zero in on the right ride fast.

Difficulty & sport markers

Every trail is dual-coded by difficulty and sport — shape and color, colorblind-friendly — so you know what you’re committing to before you drop in.

Elevation & grade

Total length, grade %, elevation difference, and a full elevation profile for every trail — plan the climb before you start it.

Share any trail

Send a trail to a friend with a link. They open the map and details in any browser — app or not — and can grab TrailAware to see it in AR.

Import your GPX trails

Bring your own routes as GPX, categorize them, and keep them private or publish to the community. Imported tracks render in AR exactly like built-in trails.

AR photo & video capture

Capture your AR trail view — glowing line and branded overlay included — as a photo or video, ready to share the moment you finish the run.

3D terrain map & minimap

A full 3D terrain map for planning, plus a heading-up minimap inside the AR view so you always know which way the trail runs.
